Lumajang, kolomberita.id - A terrible incident occurred on Friday, July 7 2023, in Klopo Sawit village, Lumajang Regency, East Java, when cold lava from Mount Semeru suddenly gushed from a river and overflowed over a bridge.
This incident made many residents around the bridge panic and try to stay away to avoid the overflow of water mixed with the cold lava. In fact, there was one resident who was forced to give up his motorbike being left behind and blown away by the strong cold lava flow.
The swift and viscous water flow makes the bridge slowly closed and can no longer be seen. This shows how powerful the intensity of the cold lava that occurred after several days of heavy rains flushed the area.
This condition raises concerns among local residents, because cold lava is a natural phenomenon that can threaten human safety.
Mount Semeru, which is the highest active volcano on the island of Java, always poses a threat to the surrounding community.
Its intense volcanic activity is often accompanied by eruptions, lava flows and cold lava which are potentially destructive and pose a danger to residents.
